| Other Info | Peter Gabriel Recibirá Premio como Embajador de Conciencia Arte por Amnistía anunció hoy que Peter Gabriel recibirá el “Premio Embajador de Conciencia” 2008 de Amnistía Internacional. La premiación tendrá lugar en una ceremonia en el Hard Rock Café en Londres, el 10 de septiembre de 2008. Peter Gabriel ha hecho campaña por los derechos humanos alrededor del mundo desde hace varios años, trabajando con Amnistía Internacional por primera vez durante la gira Conspiracy of Hope (Consipración de Esperanza) en 1986 y después con la novedosa gira Human Rights Now! (¡Derechos Humanos, Ahora!) en 1988. Gabriel fundó Witness, una comunidad en video que hace campaña por los Derechos Humanos, y más recientemente The Elders, una alianza privada de importantes figuras globales para lanzar ataques diplomáticos contra los problemas más graves que afectan al mundo. “Peter ha estado a la vanguardia en la lucha por los derechos humanos y la justicia alrededor del mundo por casi un cuarto de siglo”, comentó Bill Shipsey de Arte por Amnistía Irlanda, “todo su maravilloso trabajo, no sólo con Amnistía, podría justificar su elección como Embajador de Conciencia”. El premio, inspirado en un poema escrito para Amnistía Internacional por Seamus Heaney, Premio Nobel, busca promover la labor de Amnistía Internacional por su asociación con la vida, el trabajo y el ejemplo de sus “Embajadores”, quienes han inspirado y motivado. Otros premiados incluyen a Nelson Mandela, U2, Mary Robinson y Vaclav Havel. El Premio Embajador de Conciencia será entregado a Peter Gabriel por The Edge (guitarrista de U2). Peter Gabriel ha dicho que The Edge (junto con su colega Bono), quien también ha sido premiado, lo reclutó para Amnistía Internacional. Art for Amnesty, on behalf of Amnesty International, are proud to announce that Peter Gabriel is the recipient of the Ambassador of Conscience Award 2008.
‘For over 25 years Peter Gabriel has, through his involvement with the pioneering Amnesty International music tours ‘of the 1980’s, his establishment and promotion of “Witness”, and his more recent inspiration which lead to the creation of “The Elders”, been at the very vanguard of the struggle for human rights and justice around the world.’ said Art for Amnesty’s Bill Shipsey.
‘Any one of the above would have justified his selection as an Amnesty International ‘Ambassador of Conscience’ continued Shipsey. ‘To have pioneered all three is a remarkable achievement from an even more remarkable man.’
The Award will be presented to Peter Gabriel at a ceremony in London on September 10th 2008 which will also mark the launch of Amnesty International’s global ‘Small Places Tour 2008‘.
The Ambassador of Conscience Award, now in its fifth year, recognises exceptional individual leadership and witness in the fight to protect and promote human rights.

Ha sido un excelente miembro ya que nos ha aportado su tiempo en todos los documentos que se generan, coordinar eventos y participaciones y relacion con artistas.
Al poco tiempo se genero una reunion con Roco de La Maldita Vecindad y los Hijos del Quinto Patio, ya que el es un activista social increible!, y buen amigo de Jaz, asi que bienvenida al equipo de AxA!
